HALLOWEEN

Did you know that... ?

  • Halloween is celebrated on the 31st October. 📆
  • Halloween is the night before the Catholic festival of All Saints and the pagan Celtic festival of Samhain (1st November).Halloween is also sometimes called All Hallows’ Eve or All Hallowtide and can also be written Hallowe’en.
  • Halloween colours are orange and black. Orange is related to harvests because the end of October is the end of the harvest. Black is related to death.
  • In the UK Halloween traditions are very much alive and popular, especially amongst kids and teenagers: pumpkin lanterns, apple bobbing, dressing up, trick or treating, halloween parties and watching films are the most tipical ones.
For further reading about these traditions visit the British Council article and watch the video:

THE LOCH NESS

Today, Pau's mother came to 4th A to talk about her trip to Scotland

We learned that Scotland is in the North of the United Kingdom

They talk in English, Scottish and Gaelic.

She visited the Loch Ness, where it is supposed to live a monster called Nessie.

She showed us some maps and pictures about the lake and... Surprise! We also have a mini Nessie in class now.

Thank you very much for visitng us! It was great to listen to your talk!

If you want to learn more about Nessie, you can have a look at this video from the British Council webapge.
